The American team immediately behind the top teams

The Haas is now behind the superpowers of F1. At least in the first round of the season. This what say the figures after the first qualification of the season.

Behind Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull The USA team shows substance and consistency. With Romain Grosjean who will move from the third row with his partner Kevin Magnussen who will go right behind him. This car with Dallara chassis and Ferrari power unit have immediately shown a good potential.

With the VF-19, it seems that the direct from Gunther Steiner raised the bar and owns the means to go beyond the fifth place of the world builders conquered in the past season…

It was a good qualification. The team worked very well during the winter in the preparation phase of the season and today we simply run and put into practice what the team has done in the last ten months to develop the car and test it. It is a nice day for the Rich Energy Haas F1 Team, thanks to the whole team

Romain Grosjean is very happy about this result and he explained:

Sixth place on the grid, all right. It was a good day for the whole team. The machine worked well, on a track where we were always competitive, so that is fine.

It is the first time we really perform the complete set-up, so it was interesting for us to discover a little more. The car worked well, and we are pretty much where we thought we were.

There are perhaps some surprises in the hierarchical order, but I am very happy with our day. I think our race pace is as good as qualifying.

We will continue to push, we will continue to provide, and we hope to get some important points to start the year

On the other hand, Kevin Magnussen stressed:

I did not have a perfect qualifying session, I made a mistake in Q1, which meant I had to use another set, leaving me with just one new set for Q3. But luckily the car was very good.

I am very proud of the team for what they have done to put a good car on the track again this year. They did a great job incorporating changes to the new rules to enable us to maintain a competitive car.

We are not so far from the summit, we are not fighting them, but we are not even too far. I hope we can build on this qualification tomorrow and make some good point
